Until now. Union Street is truly the worst polish I have ever tried to apply. After one coat, I wanted to cry, or give up.
I carried on though because I love the colour in the bottle (you might be able to see it more clearly in this picture) This is my ideal shade of purple, it's just so bright and fabulous. However, after one coat I realised that I was going to struggle to achieve much. In the end it needed 5 coats, yes 5, to look like this.
After so many coats it had lost that wonderful, almost glowy, brightness and it was still so patchy. Every single nail had streaks and patches but after 5 coats, I really didn't care anymore. It also dried to a horrible semi matte finish so I put a coat of Seche over the top to make it bearable to wear for a day.
I might (maybe, and I'm not sure) try this on my toenails. I'm 5' 9'' so my feet are quite a long way away and I won't be able to make the streaks out so badly, but even so this polish may just be too much like hard work for me.
I have seen that YSL's polish in Ultra Violet looks to be a dupe for this shade but I don't know if I can bring myself to spend £16 on it. So I'd be really grateful if you could either recommend a more affordable dupe or buy it for me. Thanks.

What a shame. Have you got the Eyeko Purple? I'm a bit rushed at the mo. but you could google some swatches. You don't need 5 coats I promise you.
That's a shame. Looks like it should be a lovely colour x x
You could try this with a nude or white polish underneath? Might eliminate those streaks. If you want a decent bright purple I recommend BarryM, originally named Bright Purple...
Oh my, five coats. Thanks for posting the first coat picture--very interesting to see.
@Jaljen- I'll have a look for it, thanks for the tip.
@Big Fashionista- I know, so disappointing.
@Rebecca- That's a good idea I'll have to look into that. I'll look out for the Barry M.
@Karen- Glad you found it useful.
